Repeat Infringers

Our Policy

We terminate users who repeatedly infringe copyrights:

  • First offense: Warning and content removal
  • Second offense: Account suspension
  • Third offense: Account termination

What Counts as Repeat

  • Multiple valid DMCA notices
  • Deliberate infringement
  • Circumventing previous removals

Appeals

Terminated users may appeal by demonstrating:

  • Notices were improper
  • They didn't knowingly infringe
  • They've taken corrective action

Important Considerations

False Claims

Filing false DMCA notices has consequences:

  • You may be liable for damages
  • Perjury charges may apply
  • Account termination
  • Legal action from accused party

Fair Use

Before filing, consider fair use factors:

  • Purpose and character of use
  • Nature of copyrighted work
  • Amount used relative to whole
  • Effect on market value

Good Faith

Only file notices when you genuinely believe infringement occurred. Misuse of the DMCA process is prohibited.
