Editing Tags
The tagd-ai editor is a powerful, block-based content editor. This guide covers everything you need to know about editing tags.
Opening a Tag for Editing
- Click on any tag in your dashboard
- The tag opens in the editor
- Start editing immediately - changes auto-save
If you can only view a tag, you don't have write permissions. Check the permissions guide to learn more.
The Editor Interface
Toolbar
Located at the top of the editor:
- Back - Return to dashboard
- Title - Click to edit the tag title
- Save indicator - Shows save status
- QR Code - Generate/view QR code
- Settings - Tag settings and permissions
- More (⋮) - Additional options
Content Area
The main editing space where you add and arrange content blocks.
Block Controls
Each block has controls that appear on hover:
- Drag handle (⋮⋮) - Reorder blocks
- Add (+) - Insert a new block
- Delete (🗑) - Remove the block
- More (⋮) - Block-specific options
Working with Text
Basic Formatting
Select text to see formatting options:
- Bold (Ctrl/Cmd + B)
- Italic (Ctrl/Cmd + I)
- Underline (Ctrl/Cmd + U)
- Strikethrough
- Code (inline monospace)
Headings
Create headings by:
- Clicking the heading dropdown
- Typing
#followed by space for H1 - Typing
##for H2,###for H3
Lists
- Bullet list: Type
-or*followed by space - Numbered list: Type
1.followed by space - Checklist: Type
[]followed by space
Text Styling
- Change text color
- Add background highlights
- Adjust alignment (left, center, right)
Adding Blocks
Using the Block Picker
- Click the + button in the left margin
- Choose a block type from the menu
- The new block appears at that position
Using Slash Commands
- Type
/anywhere in the editor - Start typing the block name
- Press Enter to insert

- Text - Rich text with formatting
- Image - Photos and graphics
- File - Downloadable attachments
- Callout - Highlighted information boxes
- URL Redirect - Automatic redirects
- Map - Embedded maps
- Gallery - Image collections

Reordering Content
Drag and Drop
- Hover over a block to see the drag handle (⋮⋮)
- Click and hold the handle
- Drag to the new position
- Release to drop
Keyboard Navigation
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + ↑- Move block upCtrl/Cmd + Shift + ↓- Move block down
Deleting Content
Delete a Block
- Hover over the block
- Click the trash icon
- Block is removed (can undo)
Delete All Content
- Click ⋮ in the toolbar
- Select Clear All Content
- Confirm the action
Undo/Redo
- Undo: Ctrl/Cmd + Z
- Redo: Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z
Auto-Save
tagd-ai automatically saves your changes:
- Every few seconds while typing
- Immediately when you stop typing
- When you navigate away
The save indicator shows:
- Saving... - Currently saving
- Saved - All changes saved
- Offline - Changes saved locally, will sync when online
Version History
The version history UI is currently in development. Soon you'll be able to:
- Browse previous versions by date
- Preview changes between versions
- Restore any previous version
Version history is automatically tracked in the background for all tags.

Mobile Editing
The editor works on mobile devices with:
- Touch-friendly block controls
- Simplified formatting toolbar
- Swipe to delete blocks
- Pinch to zoom images

Troubleshooting
Changes Not Saving
- Check your internet connection
- Look for error messages in the toolbar
- Try refreshing the page
- Changes are cached locally and will sync when possible
Editor Slow or Unresponsive
- Break very long content into multiple tags
- Optimize large images before uploading
- Try a different browser
- Clear browser cache
Can't Edit a Tag
- Verify you have write permissions
- Check if someone else is currently editing
- Ensure you're signed in to the correct account
