Sharing Tags
Beyond permission levels, tagd-ai lets you share tags directly with specific people. This guide covers all the ways to share your tags.
Sharing Methods
Share via Link
The quickest way to share:
- Open any tag
- Click the Share button
- Copy the link
- Send via email, message, or any channel
The link format is: https://tagd-ai.com/XXXXXX (where XXXXXX is your tag's short ID)
Share via QR Code
Perfect for physical distribution:
- Open the tag
- Click the QR Code button
- Download or print the code
- Recipients scan to access
Share via Email
Send directly from tagd-ai:
- Open the tag
- Click Share → Send via Email
- Enter recipient email addresses
- Add an optional message
- Click Send
Recipients get an email with a direct link to your tag.
Share with Specific Users
Grant access to individual tagd-ai users:
- Open the tag
- Click Share → Add People
- Enter their email address
- Select permission level:
- View - Can only read
- Edit - Can modify content
- Click Invite
They'll receive an email invitation and see the tag in their "Shared with Me" section.
Managing Shared Access
View Who Has Access
- Open the tag
- Click Share → Manage Access
- See a list of:
- Direct invitations you've sent
- Current permission settings
Remove Access
For individually shared users:
- Go to Share → Manage Access
- Find the user
- Click Remove
For public/domain access, change the tag permissions.
Change Shared Permissions
- Go to Share → Manage Access
- Find the user
- Change their permission level
- Changes apply immediately
Shared with Me
Access tags others have shared with you:
- Click Shared with Me in the sidebar
- View all tags shared directly with you
- Click any tag to open
Accepting Shares
When someone shares a tag:
- You receive an email notification
- The tag appears in "Shared with Me"
- Click to view or edit based on your permissions
Leaving Shared Tags
Remove a tag from your shared list:
- Open the tag
- Click ⋮ → Leave
- You'll no longer see the tag
The owner isn't notified and can re-share anytime.
Collaboration Features
Real-Time Editing
When multiple people edit simultaneously:
- Changes sync in real-time
- See collaborator cursors (coming soon)
- Conflicts are automatically resolved
Edit Notifications
Get notified when shared tags are edited:
- Go to Account Settings → Notifications
- Enable Shared tag updates
- Choose email, push, or both
Sharing Best Practices
For Teams
- Use domain permissions for team-wide access
- Reserve individual sharing for external collaborators
- Set up shared folders for projects
For External Sharing
- Use protected fields to hide sensitive content within tags
- Use view-only access unless editing is needed
- Monitor access with analytics
For Public Distribution
- Use public read with owner-only write
- Monitor access with analytics
- Consider watermarking sensitive documents
Transfer Ownership
Completely hand off a tag to someone else:
- Open the tag
- Click ⋮ → Transfer Ownership
- Enter the recipient's email address (they must have a tagd-ai account)
- Click Transfer Ownership to send the request
- The recipient receives an email with 48 hours to accept or deny
Transfer Rules
- You will no longer be the owner once they accept
- Your access depends on the tag's permission settings
- Existing shares are preserved
- Transfer requests cannot be cancelled once sent
Transferring ownership cannot be undone. The new owner has full control over the tag.

Share tags within other content:

oEmbed
tagd-ai supports oEmbed for platforms that support it. Simply paste the tag URL and it will auto-embed.
Sharing Analytics
Track how shared tags perform:
- Open the tag
- Click Analytics
- View:
- Total views
- Unique visitors
- Geographic distribution
- Device types
- Access times

Troubleshooting
Shared User Can't Access
- Verify their email is correct
- Ensure they've created a tagd-ai account
- Check if tag permissions override sharing
Email Not Received
- Check spam/junk folders
- Verify the email address
- Resend the invitation
Can't Share a Tag
- Only owners can share
- Verify you're signed in
- Check your subscription allows sharing
